Daniel Dutton is an up and coming Artist who recently graduated from Camberwell College.
His practice combines a mixture of sculpture and performance to explore the context
of established works. Daniel has developed a new concept, sculptering, which he describes
in detail on this site.
Asked to give a brief overview of his progress to date, he said ‘My practice involves
a mixture of performance, documentation and objects. ‘
‘Sculptering’ is the name I have given to the physical exploration of sculpture
through climbing. I am interested in the connections between sculpture and natural
form, exploring monumentality, purity, permanence and the human form.
Within my Sculptering so far I have achieved and documented 7 sculpture ‘peaks’,
withstood 1 fall, created 6 objects and am currently seeking out the next series
of climbs, focusing on Henry Moore’s Bronze works.
