Laura Jimenez, BSc

Laura is currently completing her Master of Science in Epidemiology and Applied Health Research at Dalhousie University under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Dutton. For her thesis, Laura is determining the impact of pandemic income supplementation (CERB, etc.) on the prevalence and severity of food insecurity in Canada in 2018-2022.

Her previous research experience includes working as the Secretariat for the Lancet Commission on Diagnostics, which focuses on reducing inequities in access to diagnostics in low and middle income countries.

Originally from Kitchener, Ontario, Laura has obtained her Honours Bachelor of Science in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo.

Outside of research, Laura enjoys going to spin and travelling! She has visited 18 different countries.
